When you say "chrome," that could mean a few things. If it's true chrome over steel, you're pretty much screwed. If it's plated plastic, you're pretty much screwed. However, if it's stainless steel or aluminum, you can buff these scratches out using a buffing wheel on a grinder motor (you'll never be able to do it by hand). Note that if it's aluminum, you might also be removing anodizing when you buff it; if so, it'll require regular rebuffing.
I was cleaning a grille (actually from a Mercedes) scrubbing the backside of it in a tub of soapy water with what I thought was a sponge/scotchbrite pad.
Scrubbing around on the front side, I scratched the chrome.. what can I do? Flitz won't get it, Flitz on paper towel not getting it. Need some suggestions, please.
