for the total thickness of the head at a certain location. The delta between the nominal specification high number and what your head measures would indicate how much the head has been shaved.

Richard '83 533i w/shaved head.

Have the head checked for true.

If you take a cut on it, use the thicker gasket available to keep the timing correct.

Leave the manifolds on the head for removal and refitment.

Consider using new head bolts for assembly.

Any suggestions or advise for refitting head gasket? Any pointers or things I should take care of while doing this ? Thanks
