Yes, I have an 85 535i with the 265 and have had driveshaft problems. What I did was take a driveshaft out of an 82 528e which uses the same transmission and turned out to be about 1/4 inch shorter. Given the adjustable driveshafts I just repositioned the center bearing a bit and lost that low speed shudder. Mine was so bad I was getting vibration at high speed too, if I stepped on the gas at freeway speed the vibration would definitely increase. Also of course, an 85 528e I would expect to be the same since it used the same 265 transmission. (with a different removeable bell housing)
