I assume all electrics appear to work (i.e. dash lights, interior lights, exterior lights, etc.) to which the starter just will not quite engage to turn over the engine. When this happened on my 1983 car a couple of years ago, it was the small electrical lead to the solenoid mounted on the starter. The connector corroded up just enough to keep the solenoid from engaging completely and hence not engage the starter. Cleaning the terminal ends and spraying with a non residue contact cleaner fixed it. Good Luck.

I have swapped an engine over... Hear the fuel pump running, checked grounds (one on motor mount and back of block, any others?)... Main relay clicks, but does not turn over... Please help...

Thanks,

Edward
