Got a few updates for everyone (well, whoever reads this, at least),

I finally got a chance to go to the library to take a look at the parts microfiche. Thanks go to Pat and Dan for forewarning me about the fact that the fiche are oversized. That wasn't much of a problem. I just put it in at a 90-degree angle and rotated the display. I'll see about CAREFULLY slicing each page (there are two pages) in half. . . IF I EVER GET THE GUTS TO DO IT!!!! Maybe I'll ask a woman to do it for me; they have steadier hands, lol.

Another thing about my specific fiche: the second page is for the e23!! I e-mailed the seller a few minutes ago and told him that it really wasn't that big of a deal, I had already left him some positive feedback, etc, so I guess I'll have to wait another week or two to get the second page to the e28 fiche.

Moving along, I was having problems with my radio today. I figured it was the ground. Those of you that have looked at the stereo mods section on my website might remember that I used the ground screw directly behind the steering wheel for my head unit's ground. So, I took off the wheel and looked at it. I clipped a little bit of the frayed wire and redid it. It still wasn't working right. Then, I noticed that my problem was that the radio cuts out when I hit the brakes. There are MILLIONS of posts to this in the archives, so no one needs to tell me how to fix it. In fact, I think there's a thread a little ways down here from earlier last week about that. So, maybe I can fool with that tonight.

Anyway, while the wheel was off, I figured I'd look into making my telescoping wheel work. I took off the bottom half of the plastic steering column cover and took a look. After spraying some WD-40 all around the column and a LOT of tugging and pushing, I got the thing to slide. After a few more shots (onto the column, not through a shot glass) of WD-40, I have a perfectly working steering column! I took a few pictures, so I'll get them (and a little more detailed description) onto the website later.

Last thing: speaking of the website, I got about four or five new cars in the gallery. Pages 13 and 14. Also, I'll hopefully FINALLY have the CD Changer page up. And, of course I'll be posting some new pics of my newly-washed engine bay and, as mentioned before, the newly-telescoping steering column.

Thanks for reading!
