Today I had a strange starting problem...
Here in NJ it's about 90.
I drove about 20 mins go go look at a 528e that was for sale, looked at it for about 5 mins and got back in my car and nothing!
My car, 1987 535is Auto with 130K.
I turned the key, the dash lit up but no crank...nothing. I waited about 45 mins after trying a couple of times and all of a suddn, it started. I drove back to my house, turned the car off, went in, got my Bentley and tried starting the car. Same thing!

My plugs are recent along with cap, rotor, wires etc...

Since the starter isn't even cranking...is that the problem? Where do I start to look (Or tell my mechanic)?

Try wiggling the shift selector in P while attempting to start. If this works, the neutral safety switch may need changing. $.02 for the day.
