Hi board,

I got back from Gulf Shores yesterday evening at about 6:00 PM. I checked my Yahoo mail, and it was overflowing with UUC Digest posts, lol. I was using my maximum amount of allowed space, so Yahoo automatically deleted any more mail coming in from that point on. So, if you sent me an e-mail after 12:00 noon on Saturday, I probably didn't receive it. I replied to the e-mails I got. On to other things. . .

I got my Bimmer back from the mechanic (she was in there to get some new rotors to solve the very typical front-end-shimmy-upon-braking problem). BUT, there were no new rotors! Since he had already gone home for the day when I got there, he had left me a note: he found the center steering link to be bad, too, and he was afraid a bad link would mess up new rotors. Since the link was back-ordered until Tuesday, he didn't install the rotors. So, I had to bring my car back there this Tuesday. THEN. . .

Today, I had a little bit of a battery/alternator problem, I think. I came up to a light, and, as soon as the revs went to idle, the car just quit. Like I had turned the key off. So, I put it into park and cranked it. NOTHING. Not even the electrical things were working. It was like I had removed a battery cable or something. So, I popped the hood, and, just as I had expected, the cables were in order, secured tightly to the newly-cleaned battery. After about 90-seconds, it started back up. No more problems that morning. Then, as I was leaving church this afternoon, my car wouldn't start! So, I had to get a ride home. I came back later to see if I could get it to start and a) the keyless entry wasn't working (no battery power), b) the central locks weren't working (no battery power), and c) the car still wouldn't start. I tried to jump it with my dad's Explorer, but, lo and behold, it wasn't doing much good. I mean, it was like the battery was DEAD. I think the corroded battery terminals on the Exploder might have had something to do with it, but I still would have gotten SOME amount of power to the battery. Any suggestions/observations? At the moment, my baby is downtown at church. Luckily, I smartened up and removed the changer, head unit's face, and all the stuff (minus the spare tire and jack) from the trunk.

Last item of business. The "new car" I mentioned in the subject. See the thread that I created, a few posts down, about the VIN number I was wanting to run. The third post I made will explain everything.

Thanks for reading,

Brad Couvillon
