we've done 3 in the last year or so. first started using a cheapo 3 jaw puller to remove and tapped the new one on using a screwdriver - worked ok. this last one, we cut the rubber housing off the old bearing with an exacto knife then used a dremel tool/ cutting wheel to cut through the outer housing and outer race. then remove bearings and use the dremel to cut the inner race just before the driveshaft. one tap w/ a screwdriver and the race will split. use the old inner race over the new bearing to protect the seals and tap it on the driveshaft. it's almost too easy. good luck - jeff h

How hard is it to get the old bearing off, and the new one on. Do they have to be pressed on and off, or will the old one come off with a couple of wacks with my favorite tool?
