Tim,

Before I left for Gulf Shores (8/8/01), I dropped my 5er off with the mechanic so he could take a look and see how to solve my front-end-shimmy-upon-braking. I asked him about it and he immediately responded with: "rotors." I told him that I had heard it could be CAs and bushings and other things, and he said "nope, rotors. The rotors can cause the bushings to go bad, but the root is always the rotors." Now, I know that mine is just upon braking, but you might want to at least take a look and see if your rotors are warped.

Also, he noticed the center steering link was almost shot. He's getting one in Tuesday and will be replacing my rotors at the same time. So, if you haven't looked at the steering link, maybe that'll be another idea.

Hope this helps,

Brad Couvillon
