with the Getrag 265 and would be the ideal setup for autocross with a 3.25 LSD. For those of you that have pre/post 85 E28s with other than a Getrag 265 you'll need the following from an '85 E28 w/Getrag 265 at a minimum to swap in this transmission.

Driveshaft
Sheetmetal Shift Console/w Shifter
Transmission Crossmember plus new rubber biscuits
Bellhousing from '85 535i, 635i, 735i w/Getrag 265

BTW:You won't want anything higher than a 3.25 rear. The Euro cars with this trans came with 3.07 diffs as this trans has 1:1 5th gear. Those of you running 3.73 diffs w/OD 5 speeds have a final drive of 3.021 in 5th gear, (5th gear x diff ratio), where as the CR dogleg would have a final drive in 5th of 3.25. Therefore an E28 with this CR trans and 3.25 rearend would run at higher RPM in 5th than the 3.73 with the current transmissions we have.
