To get the code call BMW as James said,
give them the 7 last digits of your
vehicle number, but most of the time
they need the Seriel number from the unit
directly,

As for starding I would recomand to check
your main relay, as well as all fuses and
fuel pump relay.

Unhooking the batterie if unhooked only
at one side could cause blowing a fuse.

Also have you tried to unhook both cables from
batterie for 5 min and reconect and then trie
to start it again?
