The forged aluminum alloy lower control arms are lighter and stronger than the OEM part, but it's an open question as to whether they make a difference or not. It was worth it for the intrinsic value of the heavy duty, exotic aspect, that and the fact that they are stock on the E34 M5. It's a hot rodder's sort of thing, one of the reasons I bought the "lower" initial cost E28 was that I would have the money to do this sort of upgrade, without justifying it as "needed" or not.

Now, when I crawl under the car to do some sort of mundane project like installing replacement engine mounts, I see them and enjoy them again, and again.

Pat

any body upgraded to these and if so was it worth the extra cost over standard .
