The euro-spec E28 had rear headrests, the problem is that most euro cars have cloth seats. I got mine from Duke Samounce when he was in Germany, and had to take them to an upholsterer to cover them with leather. Check out my briefcase below, go to the BMW folder and you'll see two headrest photos, the first one is the whole kit, everything Duke sent me. You'll see the headrests, the black brackets, four screws for each bracket and two black grommets for each headrest. The brackets are both the same, but one is turned upside down in the photo. The other picture is in essence what you will see behind the driver's side rear seat, from the trunk, if you remove the cardboard panel. In that picture, the black thing on the top left corner is the amplifier. Note the four screw holes where the black brackets go and the two large openings on the rear deck, where the headrest chromed tubes enter. I'm sorry, but I don't have a picture of them installed, my camera broke.
The headrests sit on top of the rear seat itself, not on the deck so you don't have to worry about them hitting the speakers. The only thing you have to do is drill the rear deck carpet in order to insert the chromed tubes.
In order to get the headrests you'll probably have to contact a german salvage yard, as Duke is no longer there. How else to get them I have no idea. Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck.
