I took my long allen wrench and cut about a inch or so off. I then put that piece I cut off in the appropiate sized socket and that did it. The problem for me was that the allen wrench had too much torsional flex and by shortening it removed most of the flex. BTW, The fan blade & shroud can be removed in 3 minutes if you have a 32mm open end wrench.
