it's not the problem I have where the window regulator's getting dettached from the window.

It might be electrical like the switch. If none of your windows roll up or down, then it could be the breaker or the fuse. If this is the only one, check the switch (swap another one out with it).

If that doesn't work, a wild guess could be that you need to clean the tracks. Gravity may allow it to roll down, but the dirty tracks may hinder it from rolling up.
