Glass sun-roof (archive)

The only rust on my 88 3-series was in the steel sun-roof - it was bad enough for two of the fixing brackets to come right away ! The rest of the car is perfect.

My 85 528i SE has a glass roof and, looking up from inside, I can't see as much of the metal frame as I could with the 3-series. Has anyone any experience of these - do the frames rust as badly as my 3-series ?

The 528 has some rust in the sills (now welded) so it isn't in quite such a good condition as the 3-series.
