It would not be as easy an an E28 M5 conversion, but it would not be that complicated. BTW, the way around a cobbled up turbo is to swap in a complete 745i motor. A guy on the E23 board was trying to sell one (complete running car, bad paint, ratty interior, perfect donor). 256 hp before you increase the boost.
