My '85 and '86 5 speeds have regular 17mm hex head plugs. Bentley describes the type you have, 17 mm Allen plug. Autozone probably has the best deal, a set of 12mm, 14mm, and 17mm Allen bits for seven or eight dollars.

When I went looking for the tool for the plug my gearbox doesn't have, struck out at Sears, and at generic auto parts store. Some stuff posted about this a couple of weeks ago, Snap-on special tool for VW transmissions, $13.95 or something like.
