I'm tired, so I'll make this short. (HA!)

1. The 4" seperates will fit if you place a peice of fibreboard or 1/2" MDF behind it. You might try to get it behind the carpet just to keep from having to carpet the wood.

2. How you run the amp really depends on how loud and clean you want your system. There really is no such thing as too much power, so your best bet is to use the amp as you describe and get a mono amp (Alpine MRV-100M) to drive the sub.

3. I would suggest making a spacer under the rear speakers. I don't like cutting on the car unless it is absolutely necessary, plus this would give the speakers a little more to hold on to. Well built, a spacer can look like stock in that shelf.

4. The sub will sound great, with the trunk open, but don't expect to hear much of it inside the car. This is where you either do 1 or 2 8's under the rear seat, or cut right behind the rear armrest like you said. It's really your preference. I'd put the sub in w/o cutting anything first just to see if you really need it (the cutting)

I hope this helps a little, and I hope you have fun doing all this. Let me know if you have any more Q's. Good luck and enjoy the drive!
