it's on the top front of the motor, (on my cars '83 533 and '73 3.0CS). It's vertical, mounted on a boss on the aluminum gizmo. Just in front and below it (half inch away) is a horizontal slot.

I don't think distilled water equals deionized water, but I always use what comes out of the tap.

If, after filling the rad and starting the car, no water comes out, two things: wait till the car warms up; and/or stop the car, completely remove the screw, and use a piece of wire to remove the whitish corrosion from the bottom of the screw hole. Once cleaned, water should come out. Then put the screw back on, and bleed the system normally. Don't forget to snug the screw down when you're done.
