Hey, I just solved this exact problem, except it was the right blinker. And...when the hazard lights were on the left and right front blinker would alternate...weird. Turned out to be a loose connection behind the turn signal, unplugged blew the crap out plugged back in...all is well!

Thanks. Actually, yes, that does help! I'll start with cleaning bulb contacts. If that doesn't work, I'll start swapping bulbs from the right side (that works fine now) to the left. I'll do it one at a time in hopes of isolating the problem.

Just for my own knowledge (not that I'm going to be able to do anything about it), are you saying that there's some sort of circuit allowing current through once a specific resistance is met? Would this be some sort of solid state thing (like a circuit board or something) or just an old-fashioned relay... which could be said to do the same thing, right?

Thanks again for the advice. I really do like learning new things.

Best regards,

Rod Woodard

Basically, the resistance in the circuit determines how fast it blinks. Faster = more resistance. Sounds like you have a ground problem. Without actually reading the wiring diagram in the ETM, I'd guess you have a bad ground, or need to clean the bulb contacts, or have a bulb that's going bad.
