I despise the deadbolt system. It's possible to lock people into your car so they can't get out. My deadbold system failed and I couldn't unlock any door. I finally got in through the trunk, but had to use an additional strategem to unlock the passenger compartment. Simply unlocking the trunk shouldn't have unlocked the rest of the car if deadbolt system is engaged- looks like you were lucky.

I had to replace the driver's lock. A PITA, but it can be done. You can remove the interior door panel while the door is closed. A word of warning- while messing around in there I managed to deadbolt myself into the car. I had to climb out through a window. You might want to make sure you have a window rolled down just in case.

HTH

Last night I went to get into my 86 M-535 and could not get the central locking system to let me in. Finally got in by unlocking the trunk..The passenger side would not unlock the car either...Even once inside I could not get the drivers door to unlock not even by hand pulling the door lock up, it wouldn't move. Any suggestions?????
