Better? Does it take care of the general buying public and take care of you rabid enthusiasts out there? ;-)

The general US driving public would be better off in a severely understeering underpowered Subaru Justy AWD. Too much HP in most people's hands is a scary thought.

Actually, I'm glad that I'm learning to drive in relatively low-HP cars. They emphasize finesse and reward what meager skill I'm developing. I've seen too many drivers with more torque and testosterone than technique, turning in pretty good lap times with sloppy driving, never realizing that they're not really learning much, nor that their car could do a lot more in trained hands.

I'm of the school that says to modify the driver, not the car. :-) To take a line from Pirelli, "Power is Nothing Without Control." It's the nut behind the wheel that counts.

That's why my first performance recommendation to anyone who asks is a driver's school.
