Replaced the front bushing and center bearing on one of my E28 driveshafts today. Wow, that was not pleasant!

Center bearing came off OK, but a puller is absolutely req'd. Tapped the new one on with the old bearing--which worked OK.

The front centering bushing was a real pain getting out. I ended up having to split it with a chisel (which I do NOT recommended). After doing the job, I really think some sort of special puller would be much better. Has anyone come up with anything?

Fortunately the new bushing tapped in nicely with a rubber mallet.
