That's it exactly, BMW will never enter NASCAR because they would have to revert to tube frame chasis, instead of a unit body; carburators instead of fuel injection; solid rear axles; goodyear tires; steel wheels the list goes on and on.

It wouldn't be too hard to prep an M5 to make two thousand left-hand turns, and run circles around everyone else(no pun intended).

Does anyone know any track times for a stock M5 on an oval track?

I'll paraphrase why...because you can't showcase/use any exceptional technology there...or so BMW said. Oh well.
