I will be reinstalling a rebuilt head next weekend, would love to hear any pitfalls/tips for the procedure from the wise members of the board.

Look at the cam lobe positions to verify you have your timing chain set clocked correctly.
Do you have a angle indicator for the final head bolt torque step?
