Heater core - how long to remove/refit? (archive)

Just bought a 525i for peanuts - small work for MOT. The heater matrix is leaking (all over the passengers feet!) and hence I have bypassed at the heater valve for now. Has anyone done the whole replacement task - at home with "normal" tools - and if so how long do I need to allow. I have a parts car which I know is good. Thanks in advance - it's getting cold over here!
