The low beam bulbs have a high and a low filament. When you flip on the high beams, the low beams cut off the low filament and cut on the high filament. The high filament is usually only about 5 - 10 watts higher. Anyway. . .

It sounds like your low filament works on both but the high filament is broken or burnt out on the one that doesn't work. When you replaced it, maybe you broke the high filament on it? I've done this a million times with those stupid tail light bulbs (when I was wiring the extra tail light), as well as the side marker bulbs (most flimsy, IMHO).

I don't want you to have to buy another bulb and it still not work, but that's what I would do.

Of course, what do I know? I don't have them 'murricun headlights no mo'!

Good luck,
