An "SE" designation shows that it has some special goodies fitted as standard.

Over the standard 528i, mine has alloy TRX wheels; computer; lamp/levels checking system; headlight washers/wipers; heated screen jets (and maybe heated wing mirrors and drivers door lock, though I haven't checked these yet); headlight levelling; rear window blind; ABS; moonroof and wind deflector - these are the extras that immediately come to mind. But no Air Conditioning or Speed Control.

Not all of these are in the SE spec, and some were originally ordered as additions to the SE spec. so my car cost someone a packet when new !
