Here is all the stuff I could come up with that receives unfused power when the key is off, and could cause a drain if faulty:
-Alternator: bad diodes could cause a drain.
-Starter: if this were bad, you'd hear it.
-ABS hydraulic unit: faulty relay could run the pump motor.
-Stuck highbeam relay, lowbeam relay, or foglight relay (the corresponding lights would be on).
-Stuck power window relay (the lighted switches would be on).
-Stuck main relay (shouldn't cause a drain by itself, but you never know).
-Stuck fuel pump relay (fuel pumps would be on).
-Faulty Motronic Control Unit (on 535i & 535is it receives power constantly to maintain its memory).
-Faulty ignition switch (connecting accessory or ignition when it shouldn't).
-Anything attached to your auxiliary fuse box & you forgot to remove the fuses?

My 87' 535IS has finally developed a quirk. For the most part this car is bone stock and in great shape with only a little over 100K on it.

Question... What can draw power with all the fuses pulled?
I've removed em all, and the main relay, and it's still pulling some power. I don't have an ammeter so I'm not sure how much yet. But I'll be purchasing one tomorrow so I can sort this out. I've searched the archives and see there are common culprits, but all are on fused circuits. So what isn't ???
