I've never done any of these things, except dumped the TRX tires, but here are some things people do. (Look these up in the archives for discussions- lots of debate):
Upgraded ECU chip (JimC, Autothority, Dinan)
Lightened flywheel
3.46:1 or 3.73:1 differential (stock is 3.25:1 for your car)
MAF conversion (Split Second & others)

Brake upgrades (components from other BMW models bolt right in).
Wheel & tire upgrades (consensus- dump TRX). I did this & recommend it. Modern tires are so much better in so many ways.

I was looking more for do-it-yourself info rather than a tuner site. Thanks anyways!


I'm looking for a definitive guide on adding all-around performance (mainly engine) to a 535is. Does anyone know of such a source? Thanks
