Of the 65 drivers registered (a few cars had two or three drivers, so the total car count was less), there were only three E28s. In greatest to least numbers were E30s, E36s, Z3s (roadsters & coupes), E46s, E39s, 2002s, E28s, and one E24, plus one TR6, a Sentra, and some other rice-burner. I've got 6x24-exposure rolls of film to develop, so I'll have more than a few pics to post later this week.
The E28s were a case of '86 535i vs. '86 535i vs. '88 528e:
'86 535i (mine):

Tranny: 5-speed

Brakes: E32 front / E34 rear

'86 535i (fellow Peachtree Chapter member):

'88 528e (fellow Peachtree Chapter member):

THE E28 RESULTS:
#1 528e at 53.33 seconds (1 DNF, multiple cone kills over several runs)
#2 Me at 53.86 seconds (no DNFs or cone kills)
#3 Other 535i at 56.60 seconds (1 DNF, a few cone kills over several runs)
Moral of the story: don't discount a 528e!
