Need a new muffler, should I go stock or is it worth getting something else?? thanks for any input
Kevin

I don't know if Midas still can supply mufflers for the 535, but they did offer a lifetime (as long as you own the car) warranty. They replaced my muffler when a support hanger broke off several years ago and it looks like it will last for another 3 or 4 years. If money is no problem, I installed a Borla stainless system on a 72 M-B 280SEL4.5 after going thru 2 OEM mufflers in 4 years. Kept the car until 89 and as far as I know the lady that bought it still hasn't had to replace the muffler! Just don't expect the non-OEM stainless units to slip right in place. There is a lot of fitting to be done and that costs!
