However, there are 2 companies that make TRX tires, Michelin (which were original on the E28) and Avon. That is probably what he meant.

I don't think Avon TRX offers much advantage over the Michelin TRX, either in availabilty, price or performance.


I'm trying to purchase an '84 533i with TRX rims on it. I'm still a bit confused however about the whole TRX ordeal. I talked to the guy selling the car and he claimed that TRX-sized rims will fit tires that aren't TRX, but there are tires that are less expensive that are a little higher profile. NON-TRX tires fitting TRX rims???? is it true or is this guy just trying to sell me this car?? I apprecitate the help!
