to be a waste of a perfectly good turbo.

Chris:

The good thing about the Eta motor is that its relatively cheap to experiment with. If I were to do what you are thinking of... #1. I would replace the head with the "I" 2.5 head, regrind your cam to some schrick specs you like, #2. I would get a 535i air meter body to accomodate higher flow. #3. If you weld find a set of headers and modify the flanges to accomodate your chice of turbo/turbochargers, The ones in the bone yard are sometimes still ok and good for experiments such as this with minimal investment. If you can, select one with an adjustable wastegate; set your boost at about 6 psi to start because your higher compression ratio than what would normally be in a turbo car. (8 psi boost is very safe) Your ducting and everything can be made or fabed at a shop as well as flanges, so you can weld up you exhaust. Find a Mitsubishi Starion Intercooler!
Chris, thats a cool idea!
