In my 85 325e, I have managed to pull sub 8-sec passes, yes just under 8 seconds, according to my G-tech dyno on a dash. The car has been equipped with a JC chip, custom exhaust and a BMC air intake. Pretty fast for such small mods. I have also ran a best time of 15.2 in the quarter at Rockingham in November of 99' I got a few runs on tape that day, but of course just a timeslip for my best time of a low 15. Drag radials helped a lot with the mounds of torque the car exhinited. I have also measured 145 at the rear wheels on the GTech, which probably means around 180 or more at the crank. Just thought I would snoot about the great speed potential of "e" motors if properly tuned. Of course I have some backyard techniques such as taking out the headlight, which netted consistent .10 seconds being shaved off the quarter times. Gotta go! Robert in NC 85 325e for sale, running great!
