It sounds like it has a vacuum leak somewhere. Check all the lines and do the old carb cleaner bit. There could also be a leak around the throttle body, especially the base or shaft butterflies if it got knock around a bit.

Unless it was reassembled with the absolute greatest of care with an oem gasket and torque sequence, engines are never quite the same after they are taken apart (even the manifolds).
