87 528e Turns over...won't start (archive)

Pristine 87 528e - well cared for turns over won't start. New battery, fuel filter.....where do I go next???? BMW dealer says can't check the fuel pump cuz you have to have diagnosed only by BMW at the DME module. Can't start it....can't get it there for diagnostics. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Peace. Aw
