I have a 87 535i (E28) and a 92 535i (E34) Both are good but I prefer the E28. Its like a battle ship on the highway (getting 2500 RPMs at 80 mph) and absoloute work horse. It is also , in my oponion easier to maintain and parts are less expensive and abundant
