Yes you are supposed to use the thicker spring pads. I just did this swap and I used these pads. If you don't there is a chance the springs can move around when the car is jacked up and the wheels are hanging.


After researching the Board, I just ordered M-Technic springs and Bilstein HD struts/shocks for my 1985 535i 5 speed. Can someone confirm whether I am going to need 9mm spacers to get the correct ride height for the front and/or the rear-I'm pretty sure I've seen that advice here. Thanks in advance, Mike
