Upgrading from the TRX is a good idea. Replacement tires are a poor value.

But, since you have 85% of the tread left, it means you have quite a while before upgrading. I suggest using the next 6 months to shop around for some cool wheels that are going for cheap. Check the tire shops (especially the little guys) they have the occasional high-end car come in and upgrade the wheels. I got a set of 850Ci rims for $30 each (list price is 10 times that).
Shop for your tires the same way, get what you want and save a bundle.
