I agree. I spent over $2000 rebuilding the front and rear suspension of my '87 "is" with control arms, poly bushings, struts, H&R springs, dog bones, new sub-frame bushings and tie rods, center link, idler arm.

Still at 120mph the car gets hard to feel completely comfortable with, especially on the 2 lane roads that I like to drive on. It stays in the lane OK, but it just isn't as "hands-off" stable as my e23 745i with the Alpina suspension I had previously.

Needless to say, I am quite disappointed with the car and feel it is hardly the "Ultimate Driving Machine" I thought it would be.

In fact, I am probably going to sell it in favor of a Dinan 750il I drove recently. DEAD STABLE on country roads at 120+. I can buy the Dinan 750 for about $15K, which is an absolute steal compared with the $9000 I now have wasted on the "is".

The e28 just isn't the car I had hoped for.
