Gill, having two pumps go in such a short time is a rare coincidence,....have you had your system "flushed"..? maybe there is loose "crud" in the system that is abrasive enough to kill the seals in the pump...?
I have put 2 new bmw(bought at the bmw dealer) water pumps during the past 4 months.The seep holes started to leak each time. I've also had to replace the thermostate each time due to the coolant flowing out from the the expansion tank overflow. My concern is that there is some internal engine problem. Has any one had this condition or can 2 pumps go bad in this span of time. Any thoughts on the problem out there? 1988 535i w/166k.
My wife say get rid of car, help save a e28 guy
