Big brake question. OK I am confused.Please help! (archive)

OK, I my brake booster failed today in my 86 528e.
I checked the archives and found a lot of good info, But I am confused about the master brake cylinder issue.

1. Do I need to upgrade the master brake cylinder and booster?
2. What size wheels do I need? I have 15" bottle caps on now.
3. What year 740 and 540 do I need to get the calipers from?
4. How much will this increase my stopping power?

I think this is all let me know if I missed anything.
