Hey Raj, sucks that the insurance co is making this such a pain, but they're trying to see if they can 'low-ball' you and have you accept a lower offer. My dad's M-class when it was involved in a similar type of accident, except it was in bumper to bumper traffic, jus got back from the shop last week. -about 2 months at the shop. Well, the place is super busy and they'll only fix a car if they're able to do it 'their way'....which is to strip it down to bare chassis (interior, drivetrain, everything) and start from there. And they work their magic and almost always gets the insurance co to go with it. the bill for the m-class....6g's in parts,....9g's for labor. and all this was for a 5-10 mph 'fender bender' where the rt frt hit the left rear of a van. -no damage at all to the van and the accident wasn't fast enough to set off the front air bags. yes, the car is newer, but my brother said that there was at least 25 or so old mb's there and the guy my brother talked to said most of them insurance will cover the repairs. The shop wasn't the dealer like in eurotrashs' incident but a reputable shop must have more pull than a regular shop. -the shop is Beverly Hills Coach Works, they probably did a better job putting the mb back together than mb did at the factory.
