the best bang-for-the-buck upgrade is a differential. For your 528e, the best upgrade would be to a 3.25 or 3.46 ratio. One of these can be had in LSD form for $200-$300 + shipping, but a 3.25 open differential is usually much cheaper. My stock 3.25 open diff is on ebay, and it's currently at $9.99 with no reserve. The link to the auction is below. The only problem with diffs is that shipping gets rather expensive since they are so friggin' heavy.
