Start over and pull the thermostat, not replace, but remove it. Then see what happens. If it's OK then you have a thermostat or air lock problem, if not, you more problems. Checking a radiator for flow with a hose or backflushing doesn't tell you much. I have had cars that ran firecracker hot but seemed to flow ok with a hose so thats not much of a test.
