It appears that the cat on my '88 535i has developed what seems like an unrepairable leak.

What would you all do....take out the cat completely or replace it? My state doesn't have emission testing so I guess I could do either.

Any opinions on sourcing of a cat in terms of brands or suppliers would be appreciated.
