Koni shocks rebound adjustmetn question (archive)

I installed Konis front and rear. The front are adjustable from the engine compartment but the rear can only be done off the car so I don't want to have to remove them once installed. What should I adjust the rebound to? Stiff, soft? what is the effect on the ride and handling? I have H&R springs.
