There seem to be a few compounds out there (like Corri-Seal offered in the BMPD catalog) that chemically convert the rust. I've heard that sometimes they may do this at the expense of the amount of metal left behind. Besides that, there is Por-15 which is used to "cover" the rust.

Just wondering if anyone has used Corr-Seal for something like the trunk lip - I actually have a spot of rust there as well and would like to nip it in the bud.
